Day 24, 25, 26: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, February 7, 8,
9, Rainbow Acres. Quartzsite, AZ
We
arrived at Larry and Debi’s place for our annual visit, with Debi unfortunately
not there, but helping her mother in Camas.
Our friends Dwayne and Jan Foley arrived with their 28’ trailer and
joined us for dinner. We will travel
together the next 4 weeks. On Thursday
Jan and I hiked to the top of Flag Hill, wishing we had brought our hiking
poles as it is a rough trail. We made
it! We went for a bike ride, out of the
park and up the paved Dome Rock road, a ride notable for its mainly downhill
ride home! Jim played desert golf with
Larry and a couple of other guys.

Trail down Flag Hill, which is steeper and rougher than it looks in this picture! |

Larry teeing of in desert golf. No snakes in sight at this point. |
On Friday, Jim and I went down to Quartzsite and checked out
the many booths where folks are selling bargain items. We purchased a few grocery items, including
Lindt chocolates! We treated Larry to
homemade enchiladas for dinner one night, hamburgers the next, so he got a
little home-cooked food. We enjoyed
watching the opening of the Olympic Games on Friday evening on Larry’s big
screen TV in his casita. He misses Debi, and so do we! I did part of the Dome Rock bike ride and Jim
played golf Saturday morning before we headed east.

Jim and Dwayne went on a 3Z trip on the desert roads. |
|
3Z is proud she made it! But no water was found for kayaking! |
|
Interesting desert rocks. |
|
Friendly desert flora. |
